We've always been an active bunch here at Target Cloud. We're big believers in the 'work hard, play hard' mantra and encourage our team members to take time out to run, walk, cycle, swim, gym or generally move about especially during those busy 'sitting at desk' days.
This year has been a strange one. With our sporting events being cancelled and Parkrun not happening, we decided to do something to replace the regular weekly catchup. That's when the Target Cloud 'social distance' Relay was started back in April.
Starting from the Waterside Cafe, Broadland Business Park in Norwich, the premise is really simple. The teams are set equally to cater for all abilities and split into teams of three, four or five members. Then we run a 1.8km out and back course and quickly as we can. The relay element always adds so much fun and a chance to catchup with each other in between runs.
Our COVID Safety Officer, Vikki Harper, an IT Specialist with Aviva has been instrumental in making the relay work and ensuring everyone is happy attending each week and our COVID statement ensures we run the event within government guidelines and RunTogether advice.
All this positivity prompted Target Cloud to get involved by sponsoring some kit with 'Ready to Relay' T-Shirts and as we move into colder nights, we'll be looking at some kit to keep us toasty.
Launching the social running group is the obvious next stage. It's so good to be involved with the local running community. Everyone is so positive and regular safe meetups are so important during these crazy times. We'll be looking to add a business social running group shortly (more on that later) to offer a safe networking environment to replace the online networking events that have sprung up in the absence of any real F2F events.
